FRS Clipper is looking for enthusiastic, upbeat individuals who share our love of the Pacific Northwest and want to join our talented team of Onboard Cruise Attendants. This position offers a fun, rewarding and challenging job, working on the water, and meeting new friends! Your primary job will involve high interaction with guests, food service, tour sales, and being an all-around great host to our guests onboard the boat. All of tour Onboard team members are based in the Seattle, WA area.  Our high-speed ferry cruises between Seattle and Victoria, British Columbia daily.

This is a full-time, year-round position with benefits.

Also, a great opportunity for student seasonal work from May through September.

Key Responsibilities

• A genuine desire to provide exceptional customer service while creating amazing memories for our guests
• Key focus of onboard sales: tours/excursions in both Victoria and Seattle; onboard food, beverage and merchandise
• Vessel cleaning and general upkeep
• Various boarding and disembarkation duties, including greeting, scanning boarding passes, luggage handling and assisting guests with accessibility needs
• Play an important role in the safety of our guests onboard. All Onboard employees attend a 5-day USCG Basic Safety Training course, which includes instruction on basic life-saving techniques, fire safety, life-raft launching and water safety.

Key Requirements

• Must possess a US Passport
• No DUI/DWI, negligent driving, or felony convictions (this will disqualify your entry into Canada)
• Must pass a required pre-employment drug screen (including cannabis) and pass random United States Coast Guard (USCG) drug screenings (paid for by FRS)
• Complete a USCG Basic Safety Training courses (paid for by FRS)
• Complete a USCG Medical Fitness exam (paid for by FRS)

Other Requirements

• A desire to be a great host to our guests onboard; ability to be engaging and approachable at all times
• Punctual and reliable
• Ability to complete work as part of a team, which having individual daily responsibilities
• Ability to work a schedule of 4 days on, 3 days off – each shift is approximately 14 hours (10 hours working, 4 hours layover in Victoria (FRS provides a layover stipend))
• Experience in restaurant, hospitality, and customer service with emphasis in sales and high-end guest service
• Able to lift 75lbs

Compensation: $20.76/hour + $25 Layover per diem + commission + tips

(average earnings are $24 – 29/hour)

Schedule: a typical workday is 10 hour shifts (plus a 3 hour afternoon Layover in Victoria);

Position Overview – Onboard Cruise Attendant

Clipper seeks an enthusiastic and professional individual who shares our passion and love of the Salish Sea. This position offers a fun, rewarding and challenging job, while working on the water and viewing wildlife up close. Your primary job will involve direct interaction with guests, serving food and beverages from our galley, and being an all-around great host to our guests onboard.

This is a full-time position, with our season running from March through October.

Compensation

$20.76/hour, plus commission and gratuity (average earnings $23-27 per hour); transportation/parking stipend; Paid Time Off (PTO); travel benefits.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service while helping create amazing memories for our guests
• Food, beverage and gift shop sales. Previous point-of-sale system experience is a plus
• Line handling on the vessel for arrivals and departures; No experience? We will train you!
• Assist the onboard Naturalist with taking and editing photos, which are sold onboard on USB flash drives
• Comply with safety and security procedures and fulfilling duties in emergency situations
• Assist team with maintaining vessel cleanliness, including trash and recycling pick-ups in the cabin, removing rash from waste bins and cleaning and stocking the onboard bathrooms

Requirements

• Previous guest-facing customer service is required – hospitality, travel/tourism and/or restaurant experience is a plus
• Ability to adhere to US Coast Guard regulations, including passing a pre-employment drug screening (which includes marijuana), and subject to random drug testing
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Available to work a long shift, working on your feet; includes weekends and holidays
• Punctual; reliable; team player; strong work ethic
• Ability to lift 75lbs safety

We operate year-round, with a very busy peak season from April through October. We are located at Pier 69 in Downtown Seattle, along the beautiful Elliott Bay waterfront.

Seeking applicants with customer service, warehouse, and/or shipping/receiving experience. Other duties include luggage handling, janitorial and line handling (no prior line handling experience required).

Hours: 4:30AM – 3:30PM; schedule is 4 days on and 3 days off each week

Must be available to work early morning hours, including weekends and holidays. We are hiring Full-Time, Year-Round employees.

Position Overview:

The Shore Support team plays an important role toward Clipper’s goal of creating amazing memories for our guests. This is a very active position that will keep you moving throughout your shift. Some of the daily responsibilities include:

• Fulfilling our vessels’ daily stock orders (food, beverage, consumables and cleaning supplies)
• Receiving shipments and deliveries
• Warehouse inventory
• Maintaining an organized warehouse
• Janitorial duties of the facility – public areas, restrooms, office area and our dock
• Setting up and breaking down guest boarding areas
• Luggage handling and using electrical hoists to transport luggage bins on/off the vessels
• Other tasks to help ensure our vessels sail on time with all the supplies they need to provide our guests with a First-Class service
• Handling mooring lines – No dockhand experience? We will train you!

Position Overview:

Explore your next chapter with Clipper! We have an opening for a Full-Time PM Shore Support 

Team Member.   We are looking for candidates with one year experience in cleaning and janitorial work. As part of the Shore Support team, you would play an important role towards Clipper’s goal: creating amazing memories for our guests!

Summary of Key Responsibilities (not limited to):

• Detailed cleaning of the vessels while docked overnight, including disinfecting surfaces, sanitizing, vacuuming, carpet shampooing, wet-mopping, floor waxing, empty trash/recycling to collection bins and prepping seats with magazines/menus for our guests.
• Cleaning of the terminal, including guest areas, lounges, restrooms and offices
• Preparing the guest boarding area for loading and unloading operation
• Luggage handling, operating pallet jacks and electrical hoists to swing the luggage bins on/off the vessels
• Handling mooring lines – No dockhand experience? We’ll train you!
